The History Behind Our Success
The original founder of The 1983 Group, formerly TRIMCO, Frank Schilagi, is a published author with extensive experience in the hotel industry. During that time, he recognized an opportunity to support local businesses with breakroom appliances and maintenance services, similar to the solutions provided for hotel lobbies and guest rooms. By identifying the right client base, our company was able to thrive and build long-term partnerships by consistently delivering exemplary service.
In the 1980s, we discovered that one of the hotels we owned consistently required fewer capital requests than the others. The reason was clear: the preventative maintenance program developed by the hotel’s engineer led to a reduction of more than 24% in capital replacement costs. Inspired by this success, we partnered with Frank Linker and launched TRIMCO — now known as The 1983 Group. Since 1983, we have delivered significant savings to our clients through professional preventative maintenance, repair, and replacement services. Today, we continue to build on that legacy with new and innovative programs designed to bring even greater value to our clients.
